Father Damian Zablocki, Parochial Vicar at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Covington LA is our new Laity chaplain and spiritual advisor. As such, he led our first Laity meeting held since March 12, 2020. April and May monthly meetings were cancelled due to the pandemic and the Laity always takes a break during the summer months of June, July and August. This meeting began our September 2020 through May 2021 Laity cycle of meetings and events. Father Damian displayed a relic of a piece of the veil of Mary that is in his possession, along with many other relics. You can read more information online about the hundreds of relics in Father Damian’s possession at this link: https://nds.edu/blog-entry/seminarian-possesses-hundreds-of-holy-relics/. Father Damian presented a morning conference (What Is Divine Providence/How To Abandon Oneself To Divine Providence) and an afternoon conference (How to Revive Mother Elena Bettini’s Desire, Care and Attention To The Family, and Those Most Helpless). Father Damian also heard confessions and celebrated Holy Mass. Maria Tusa led the Laity in praying the Rosary. Dr. Joe Tusa played piano while Father Damian heard confession which was followed by Holy Mass. The entire Day of Recollection was uplifting and inspiring and provided much needed spiritual food for our souls!
